What is an esophagoscopy?

An Esophagoscopy is a diagnostic procedure to evaluate the esophagus or swallowing passage. Problems identified can include foreign objects, inflammation, signs of gastroesophageal reflux disease, narrowing or tumor growths. The procedure is performed under a general anesthetic in children. It can be performed with soft flexible scopes or rigid scopes depending on the situation. We have extensive experience performing this procedure.
