Dr. Hamming grew up in north Louisiana. She attended undergraduate school at The University of the South, Sewanee and received her medical degree from Vanderbilt University. She pursued an Otolaryngology \u2013 Head and Neck Surgery residency at the University of Minnesota and a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children\u2019s Hospital Colorado, consistently one of the top 10 pediatric hospitals in the US. She then moved to the Chicago area to be near family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Hamming is board certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery. She has expertise in all areas of Pediatric Ear, Nose, and Throat. She treats problems involving tonsils and adenoids, ear infections, hearing loss and chronic ear disease, airway problems including the larynx and trachea, and pediatric sinusitis. She has special training and interest in cleft lip and palate and infants with airway problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hamming has a teaching appointment as an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center. She won multiple teaching awards throughout her training and enjoys continuing to educate the community as well as future surgeons. She has presented at national meetings and published literature related to voice problems in children with cleft palate and aspiration in neonates, and she has done research on topical treatments for sinus disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Hamming is on staff at Lutheran General Children\u2019s Hospital, Children\u2019s Memorial Hospital, Rush University Medical Center, NorthShore University Hospitals (Highland Park, Evanston, and Glenbrook), Condell Hospital, and the Golf Surgical Center.<\/p>\n\n\n
